The location
Four Shores is a terraced house in a central and convenient location with easy access by car. Parking is not permitted in the street (because of its proximity to the town) but this can be an advantage as it is possible to load/unload the car at any time.
Included in the rental is the use of a parking space, a short distance from the property. There is a choice of car parks nearby with long stay spaces.
Once you arrive in St. Ives there is little need to use a car as 'Four Shores' is only a couple of minutes from the Market Place and all the shops and restaurants necessary for catering at home or dining out. All the beaches are also within easy walking distance with no major hills to climb. You can choose from Porthmeor - the large Atlantic beach popular with surfers and overlooked by the Tate Gallery, Porthgwidden which is located at the other side of 'The Island' and is a small beach perfect for swimming, the Harbour beach which is very sheltered and Porthminster which is very safe for children. All the beaches have excellent restaurant and takeaway facilities.
In spring and autumn St. Ives can be at its most beautiful, less crowded but still warm enough for swimming and sunbathing. It is an ideal time for walkers to enjoy the coastal path in either direction, towards Lelant or Zennor. The September Festival is extremely popular with anyone who appreciates music and art.
In winter most of the restaurants, shops and galleries remain open and the climate is milder than in most other parts of the country. This is the time to enjoy walks on the empty beaches, visit the many places of interest nearby or just take in the views and fresh air. There is also a modern leisure centre in St. Ives with a swimming pool and a gym with fantastic views over the town and across the bay.
